Books For Thought~3

Books For Thought is a weekly meme hosted by LA Femme Readers.

Q. If one character could haunt you, who would you pick and why?

My Response: Jesse!! I would want no other character to haunt me except Jesse de Silva from The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot. He's a ghost but he's so sweet and hot and gentlemanly! He's my first ever book boyfriend and I still love him! I'm so jealous of Suze. :@ I want a Jesse! He can haunt me all he wants. ;)

What about you? Which character would you pick?

Musing Mondays~6

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

This week’s musing asks…
What was the last book you could not finish and why?

My answer: I usually finish every book I read but recently there was one that I could not finish. The True Detective by Theodore Weesner. I receieved this for review but no matter how hard I tried I could not finish it. The writing was too simple and I got bored. The story was pretty good but not enough to keep me reading.

What about you? What's the last book you could not finish?

2013 Challenges

I was not able to complete any of my 2012 challenges except the Goodreads one.

Probably because I couldn't keep track of them. I know, I'm ashamed! But I promise I'll try my best this year! I'll keep track of all of them and actually join the ones I know I'll be able to complete.

So next year I'll be doing these challenges:

1. Off The Shelf Reading Challenge hosted by Bookish Ardour

I think I tried this last year too. I'm a failure, I know!

But I'm trying again and this time I'll be able to finish! I'm going for the second level (Trying), that is, I have to  read 15 books off my shelf of books I've gotten prior to 2013. I'll be posting the reviews and updates as I go along. I'm not deciding on a list beforehand because I think it'll be easier this way.

2. Ebook Challenge hosted by Workaday Reads

I've got A LOT of ebooks. I think this challenge is a good way to get myself to read them. I'll be trying the second level, CD, in which I have to read 10 ebooks. Again, I won't be choosing books beforehand. I'll just add them as I go along.

3. Manga/Graphic Novel/Video Gamel Novel Challenge hosted by Mother. Gamer. Writer.

I love manga! This challenge would be great for catching up on all the manga I have lined up in my TBR. I'll be doing Level 1 Arcade Gamer-Casual Player i.e 12 books. Same as previous, I'll list the manga as I read them so no list beforehand.

So these are the reading challenges I'm hoping to complete in 2013. Wish me luck! Other than these, there is obviously the Goodreads challenge in which I'll be aiming for 75 books. This year I did 50 books and I'm happy to say that I exceeded that number :D

So what challenges are you guys participating in next year? Comment below and let me know!

Top 10 of 2012: Best Book Boyfriends of 2012

My favorite topic!! I'm going to add manga boyfriends too 'cause well technically we 'read' mangas so they are books too. Right? It's not like I don't have enough 'book boyfriends' but I like my manga boyfriends too and I want to show them off too. So it's not cheating...

10. Jamie Forta from Confessions of an Angry Girl by Louise Rozett

I would date Jamie just for his kissing skills alone! But I'm not that shallow :P I love how Jamie stands up for his girl. And he may seem like a bad boy but he has a good heart. I can't wait to get to know him better in the next book!
My Review.

9. Sebastian Michaelis from Black Butler by Yana Tobosa

I know that he's too old to be my boyfriend. And I know that even if he were my boyfriend, he couldn't care less about me. But you know how girls are sometimes obsessed with guys who are obviously wrong for them? Yeah, that would be my case here :P Oh how I would love to have a Sebastian of my own!

Jake is so nice and kind and he's such a good boyfriend! Too bad he loves Sam.... And I could so totally imagine them living happily ever after with a family! ♥ But, yeah, I would love Jake as my boyfriend!
My Review.

7. Yamato Kurusawa from Suki-tte Ii na yo by Kanae Hazuki

Yamato is sssooo swoon-worthy!! He makes me blush everytime I see him! ♥ And I love how protective he is of Mei. But why you be so clueless sometimes Yamato? I still love you though!

Dash has such a good sense of humor, and that's a lot coming from me since I don't laugh that easy. Plus he loves to read! He's such a cute nerd!
My Review.

5. Drew Carmichael from Transcend Time Saga by Michelle Madow

Oh how my heart flutters whenever I think of Drew! ♥ He may seem like a bad boy from looks but he's such a sweetheart and a gentleman!
My Reviews: Remembrance, Vengeance, Timeless.

How can someone fictional be so hot?!! I'm melting here..... To read my fangirling about this amazing guy click here.

Oh Noah ♥ He's so loving and caring and he may be broken but oh God I want him! He's so nice even though he's a bad boy and I love him!!
My Review.

2. Haru Yoshida from Tonari No Kaibutsu-kun by Robico

Haru is sssooo cute!! He's so innocent and he may have a bad temper but he has such a good heart! And he's so trusting and caring! Plus he has really nice hair! Not to sound crazy (it's not like I'm obsessed with hair or anything) but looking at his hair really does make me want to run my hands through them. And you can't blame me, even Shizuku wanted to touch his hair!

Sam is so nerdy and cute and sweet and gentlemanly!! He's the perfect boyfriend for me! My dream boy ♥ About the above picture, I couldn't decide which picture resembled him the most, I just imagined him as a mixture of both, so I put up both of them. :)
My Review.

So here's my list of my best book boyfriends of 2012. Share yours below!

My Review.

2. Abby & Travis from Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire

I really coudn't figure out how I felt about this book but one thing's for sure, Abby & Travis are so wrong for each other, yet so right! They may not be a perfect couple but I saw how they were perfect for each other and they could heal each other's scars.

1. Noah & Echo from Pushing The Limits by Katie McGarry

Oh how my heart breaks for these two! They had to go through so much but they both had each other for support and their love was epic and they were just.... perfect!! I loved them!!

Top 10 of 2012: Best Covers of 2012

So many pretty covers to choose from!! But here are my top 10:

10. The Catastrophic History of You and Me by Jess Rothenberg

It's so pretty! It has two of my top favorite colors, blue and purple. And it's so refreshing! I love it! Though I think if a different font would have been used then it would have been even better.

9. Someone Else's Life by Katie Dale

I love the chalk writings and drawings on the wall! But the cover is too crowded.

8. The Treachery of Beautiful Things by Ruth Frances Long

It's so beautiful! The trees in the background, the girl's dress (Oh how I wish I could have that dress!) and the flowers! Everything is really pretty! Plus the girl's posture and expression adds a feel of mystery to the cover.

7. Forbidden by Syrie James and Ryan M James

It's so.... cold. The blue and the fog is so mysterious and chilly. It's definitely somethig that would catch my eye on a bookshelf!

6. Illuminate by Aimee Agresti

I love this cover for the title alone. The lighted branches coming out of 'ILLUMINATE' are so pretty!! Plus I love the girl's red dress.

5. The Fine Art of Truth or Dare by Melissa Jensen

I got this book because of the cover. I love this cover!! It's so simple yet flirty.

4. Forever My Girl by Heidi McLaughlin

There's just something about this cover that draws a person to it. Maybe the faded picture and fog. Maybe the girl. Maybe the guitar and the train track. Whatever it is, I just love this cover! I especially like how the title fades out to blue.

3. Incarnate by Jodi Meadows

This cover is breathtakingly beautiful! The butterfly eyes and the title font are so pretty! I love this cover!

2. Gone, Gone, Gone by Hannah Moskowitz

This cover is so... lonely. I mean, it gives you the feeling of lonliness, doesn't it? It's so simple yet captivating.

1. The Secret of Ella and Micha by Jessica Sorensen

I've been crazy about this cover from the moment I first saw it! The black and white and red are so pretty! And the fonts too are so... fun! I love love love it!!!
