Top Ten Tuesday (4) ~ Books I'd love to see as a movie or TV show

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
I did a post on this topic last month. But I added a couple of movies to my list to make it 10. So here's my new list (in no particular order):

1. Teen Idol by Meg Cabot ~ Movie

This book would make such a fun and inspirational movie! And it would have 2 cute boys ;) I would sssooo love to see this movie! Especially because the main character is really relatable. And the book is short so they wouldn't have to omit a lot of stuff either.

2. Transcend Time Saga by Michelle Madow ~ Movie Series

These series have a really interesting story! I would love to see them as movies! Michelle even has a dream cast for the books. How awesome would it be if these actually get turned into a movie series and Taylor Swift plays Lizzie?!!

3. From What I Remember by Stacy Kramer and Valarie Thomas ~ Movie

I love road-trip movies! And this book was one of my favorite books last year. I think this book would make such an amazing movie! Funny and relaxing, a great summer movie!

4. The Whispers Series by Joanna Mazurkiewicz ~ Movie Series

Can I just say first... I love the new covers! I haven't read the whole series yet, I've read the first three, but I think these would make a good movie series, each book being a movie. That makes it 4 movies. This series would have such a gorgeous cast! You know, as Sprites are gorgeous people. So lots of eye-candy! :D And the story's pretty interesting too. I, for one, would love to see these movies!

5. Sam Cruz's Infallible Guide to Getting Girls by Tellulah Darling ~ Movie

This book would make such a funny movie! If you've been reading my blog, you know that I LOVE 'best-friends turned lovers' stories! Books, movies, anything! I just adore the theme! And this book has exactly that theme. Plus it's hilarious! It would be so much fun to watch!

6. Speechless by Hannah Harrington ~ Movie

I'll be honest, the only reason I want to see this turned into a movie is because I want to see a real-life Sam. Sam is one of my majorest book crushes! The story of this book is really good but it's fine even if it doesn't get turned into a movie. I only want to see a real-life Sam, that's all.

7. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher ~ Movie

This one's a new addition to my previous list. I know that this is being turned into a movie but I just wanted to share that I'm really looking forward to it. This book is the book that got me into reading YA and it will forever be one of my favorite books. I would love to see it as a movie as long as they do not ruin it!

8. Saving June by Hannah Harrington ~ Movie

When I recall reading this book, I can't really remember it as 'reading'. I remember it as a movie. Like Saving June wasn't a book I read but a movie I saw. That is why I want to see this as an actual movie. But only if the movie promises to do justice to the book!

9. Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn ~ Movie

I'm aware that this book is being turned into a movie too. And I'm VERY happy about it! I love this book A LOT! This is my cure for whenever I'm feeling down. I love love love the story and I adore the characters! So they better do justice to the book!

10 The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot ~ TV Show

I've said this before, I'll say it again... PLEASE SOMEONE TURN THIS INTO A TV SHOW!! Please! I'm begging you! This series would make such an awesome TV show! And more books are coming out! Even better! 6 seasons are already there! Just please please! I know these are being turned into a movie but I don't think a movie will be able to do justice to this series. So please make this into a TV show!

And that's my list! :) Do you have any books you'd love to see turn into a movie or TV show? Comment below or leave a link to your post. I would love to check out your list!

Blogging Schedule~September

My college is starting tomorrow...

So... I made a schedule. A blogging schedule, to be exact. So that blogging doesn't get in the way of my studies and vice versa.

I've decided that at the start of each month (starting from September) I will post the schedule for the respective month to let you know what's in store.

Here's the schedule for September:

  • Book review of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies when I finish the book.
  • Top Ten Tuesday. I'll be doing this one for the 10 Sept topic which is "Books I would love to see turned into movies/TV shows".
  • My Book Boyfriend on 11 Sept in which I will be featuring Sam from Speechless.
  • Cutie of the month (a new feature I started) on 14 Sept in which I will be featuring Donghae.
  • Manga Crush on 15 Sept in which I will be featuring Kei from Special A.
  • Cover Crazy on 21 Sept.
  • Favourite Fridays (another new feature) on 27 Sept in which I will be featuring my favourite book couples.
Other than that I might do a Swoon Thursday post if I come across a swoon. I also might do a movie/TV show/drama review if I watch one.

And that is my schedule for September. Now I'm going to go watch a movie to calm my nerves because I'm super nervous about tomorrow! Wish me luck!

The only man who could love her despite all her flaws is her best friend. The only problem was that they both swore that they were not or will ever be romantically attracted to each other.

My Rating: 10/10

My Thoughts: Gaahh!! I loved this drama soooo much!!

This is my second Taiwanese drama, first being Skip Beat. Skip Beat was my first ever Asian drama and I loved it! And if all Taiwanese dramas are like Skip Beat and In Time With You, with such amazing characters and stories, then I might just start watching them more often!

Story: I lloooovvvveeee best-friend romance stories!!! And this one was sssooo good! It was cute and funny but also serious at times. Plus it was very close to reality so it was relatable. The story didn't go boring for me at all, it was interesting and believable and all the plot twists were really good!

Characters: All the characters in this drama were very real. They were taken from real life. They were flawed characters who made mistakes. They were like normal people, like you and me. I felt this very strongly while watching this drama. How real the characters were. But that doesn't make them any less interesting.

This drama has some of my favorite characters. I'll start with the minor ones. I ADORE You Qing's family!! Especially her relationship with her mother (which is a lot like my relationship with my mom). It's just so cute and adorable! Her parents are the cutest thing ever! Her siblings are funny and VERY sibling-like. And I just really love the whole family!

I've only seen Ariel Lin once, in her MV for Fireflies with Siwon and Donghae (from Super Junior). I thought she was cute. She's really cute and pretty in this drama too. But she's also a very good actress! She did a great job playing You Qing. She brought the character to life. You Qing as a character was very real and relatable. I found her in myself a lot of times. She's headstrong and seems arrogant but has a good heart.

Li Da Ren!!! Oh I want a Li Da Ren too please!!! He's the perfect boy! The perfect best friend! And just... ugh! So cute!! I mean look at that nerdy smile and dimple!

He loves You Qing so much and is always there for her. He's a good son and a supportive big brother. And he's an amazing person overall. He's like the king of 'good boys'! :P I did get angry at him sometimes because I wanted him to tell You Qing already that he loved her. But I got his reasons too. Of why he didn't... so it's OK. I love him still. 'Cause he's just too adorable!!

The other characters were great too but none of them impacted me in a way that I would mention them here. Some were funny and all of them helped the story line. The 2 characters keeping our main characters away from each other, major one being Ding Li Wei, weren't all that bad. I mean, they were decent people. And like I said before, real people. It's just that they liked the wrong people. Maggie and Ding Li Wei could have been likable if they didn't come between our main couple. But that's what the writer's have shown. Because, in a way, it was because of these relationships that our main characters realized that they loved each other and that they were soul mates. (Cheesy much? :P)

Romance: The chemistry between You Qing and Da Ren was so amazing! From the beginning they were 'made for each other'. As I said before, I'm a HUGE 'best friend romance' fan! So I loved the romance in this drama! I don't know what else to say... Let me share a couple of my favorite scenes with you:

This was before they got together <3
The cutest proposal (and ring) ever!!
Aahhh I cannot get enough of this couple!

I'll stop here because if I share more then the drama may get spoiled for you... Just understand that I love every scene this couple shared! <3

Overall: I would HIGHLY recommend this drama, especially if you like best friend romances! But if you're only looking for a funny and romantic drama then this would do the deal for you too. I, personally, loved this drama a lot! It definitely made it to my favorites list! Great acting, amazing story and all in all a wonderful drama!

I'll leave you with these cute cartoon photos I found on Tumblr:

My "insta-buy authors" list

There aren't many authors who's books I would buy regardless of the content. I always read the synopsis of the book and decide if I want to read it or not no matter who wrote it. So it's no surprise that when I made a list of authors whose books I would buy as soon as they are released, it only comprised of four.

So I'm going to share my list of insta-buy authors with you guys and hope you could tell me your list. Maybe you and I will discover new authors to add to our list this way?

Hannah is the author of Saving June and Speechless, both of which were great hits. I read both of them last year and fell in love with her writing! I don't think she's currently working on anything new right now but I can't wait to read more of her works!

Who doesn't know Meg Cabot? The renowned author of The Princess Diaries. I love Meg's writing! I've read a couple standalone novels by her and the whole Mediator series. The Mediator series are one of my all-time favorite series! I've also read a couple of books from the Princess Diaries series. Anyway, I would read anything my Meg Cabot because I simply love her writing!

Since her debut with Pushing The Limits, Katie McGarry has been the talk of the book-blogger town! I read PTL last year and Dare You To this year and I loved both of her books! She is an amazing writer and I would definitely buy anything she writes! I can't wait to get my hands on Crossing the Line and Crash into You!

4. Khaled Hosseini

I believe Khaled Hosseini is one the best writers of all time. Disregarding the content of his books, his writing alone is pure genius! And the books he writes are so raw and real. They really show humanity, at it's worst and best. And trust me, they are not easy to read! But his writing is simply mind-blowing! I love Khaled Hosseini as a writer and I own all 3 of his novels. He is a writer who's work I buy without even reading the title or looking at the cover, let alone read the synopsis. If it's written by Khaled Hosseini, I have to have it. Because I trust this person can do no wrong.

And here you have it! My "insta-buy authors" list. Please do share yours in the comments below!

Book Review~Her Secret Whispers (The Whispers #3) by Joanna Mazurkeiwicz

Rating: 7/10
Source: Provided by the author in exchange for an honest review. Thank you Joanna for giving me a chance to read & review your book. :)

My Thoughts:

The Good: I really really like the story! It's interesting and different and I like the whole mystery aspect of it. It is well thought-out and sometimes the suspense really had me reading fast, eager to know what will happen next.

The writing isn't that bad either. It is easy to create pictures in your mind with how the author has described things in the book and it isn't boring either.

A major part of the reason I gave this book 3 stars (on Goodreads) is the story. Because that is what made me finish the book. The protagonist was a very annoying one and I did abandon this book once. But the story got me reading again.

The Bad: The characters. Ugh, the characters! In my previous reviews I've said Ania was annoying. Well she was nothing compared to Niamh! OhmyGod this girl made me so angry! In the beginning I liked her. She reminded me of Beth (from Dare You To) and I really thought she was going to be a strong and smart character. Boy was I wrong! She is as reckless and stupid as her sister, if not more. She got on my nerves like anything!

This is the first time I've ever wanted to hit a character with their own book. For example, there is a scene in the book where Gerald, the love interest, and Niamh are being chased by someone. Gerald tells her to disappear using magic and while helping her do so he's standing very close to her. So when Niamh is finally back safe what she's worried about isn't if Gerald is safe or not. But she's angry that he didn't kiss her. DIDN'T KISS HER!! Niamh sweetheart, you both were being chased my potentially dangerous people. I don't think kissing would have been on anyone's mind at that point.

There are plenty more scenes that got my eye rolling and that made me want to beat up Niamh in frustration but I think you get my point so I won't list them.

Another thing that annoyed me was the insta-love. It was fine between Ania and Gabriel because with Ania's personality it wasn't hard to believe that she would fall fast. But throughout the book it is mentioned that Niamh's heart is guarded and she has built walls around her etc etc. But not only is no reason given for her being so guarded, she instantly falls for Gerald and I can see no reason why besides that he's gorgeous. And if that's the reason then I must be in love with a lot of people! And half of them live across the world! I just feel like there wasn't any reason given for Niamh being in love with Gerald. Or maybe she just falls for people based on their "ebony eyes"...

Like the other books, there was a tad bit repetition but it got better as the book progressed.

Overall: I wouldn't particularly recommend this book but if you have started the series then go ahead. Who knows, maybe you will like it better than I did... The story, undoubtedly, is really good. I just wish Niamh wasn't that annoying . Then I would have been able to enjoy the book better. I would like to read the next book though. See how everything turns out.
