Favorite Five Friday~Favorite Book Covers

Hello! I'm so sorry that I've been MIA for a week! I'm drowning in tests here! I'm trying to work on a schedule so that I am able to fit blogging in. Since I hadn't thought up an interesting topic for today's Favorite Five Friday I'm going to go with an easy one and show you my favorite book covers.

1. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

This cover is just so cool! The crown, the blood, the "Power is a dangerous game". I love how the name of a book is written in big but normal letters. It somehow has more impact than a fancy font would have. And the background is plain so there is more focus on the crown and especially the blood. That, together with the tagline, really makes you wonder about the story and draws you to the book.

2. Beware The Wild by Natalie C. Parker

Look a how awesome this cover is! The forest background, the branches going through the name, the way 'WILD' is written and the tagline! I love the colors, the shades of green and purple. I love the reflection and the effects on the font. I would love to have this book on my shelf!

3. Mortal Danger by Ann Aguirre

It might seem like I'm a fan of weird, scary covers and maybe that's true. But don't you agree that these covers really do look awesome? Look at the withered background, the blood and the infinity string. The fonts used are really great too, especially the one used for the writer's name. I don't know about you but this is a book I would definitely pick up to see what it's about.

4. The Fine Art of Truth or Dare by Melissa Jensen

Here's a cute one for you! See? I'm not that creepy. Maybe next time I could do a themed list... So anyway, what I love about this cover is basically everything. The painting, the legs, I love everything right down to the font and how the name's written. This cover is just so cute!

5. Falling Into Place by Amy Zhang

I love the uniqueness of this cover! The physics in the background (or is it math? I studied all that in physics though so it must be physics...), the road and car and the hand. I especially love the way the name is written! The tagline seems a little out of place but I do like the words. And I love the color!

Okay, so these are my favorite covers at the moment. Fun fact: I haven't read any of these books (yet). If you have then feel free to tell me what you thought about them. And share your favorite covers below, I would love to add more to my collection!

Favorite Five Friday~Favorite Book Couples

I know, I know. Favorite Five Friday and Sunday Spotlight are the only posts I've been posting recently. But I really have no time for anything else. I didn't even watch any dramas this week because I've been busy with tests. But I'm pretty sure you're not here to read my sad story so lets get to the post.

Last week I told you about my favorite drama couples. This week I'll be writing about my favorite book couples. These book couples range from cute to sexy and everything in between. I love reading about different couples and their relationships and stories. So here are my top five favorite couples:

1. Jake & Samantha from What I Did't Say by Keary Taylor

These two were probably the most 'real' couple I've read about. Their stories were heartbreaking yet relatable and the way they supported and helped each other was like a real couple would. They were very close to reality and I loved how they healed each other. They were like best friends.

2. Jesse & Suze from The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot

Aaaa!! These two were adorable! The way Jesse took care of Suze, the way he called her 'querida', it was all so swoony! They were adorable together!

3. Kyle & Val from V is for Virgin by Kelly Oram

Oh I loved these two! I loved their bickering and witty remarks. I loved how they were so different and yet so similar. They were a unique and sexy couple and I loved everything about them!

4. Noah & Echo from Pushing the Limits by Katie McGarry

I loved their story! I loved how they helped heal each other. How supposedly they weren't right for each other but they were perfect together.

5. Sam & Chelsea from Speechless by Hannah Harrington

Sam & Chelsea were more like friends and Sam is just the kind of boy I would fall for in real life. They were really cute together!

So these were my favorite book couples. I would love to know yours! So hit the comments section and tell me about your favorite book couples!

Favorite Five Friday~Favorite Drama Couples

Hello! I hope you are doing well and this week wasn't too hard on you! Well no worries, the weekend is here and what better way to spend it than watch your favorite dramas?! So today I'll be listing five of my favorite drama couples! These couples made my heart skip a beat and I ship love them with all I have!

1. InHyun Couple from Queen In Hyun's Man

I don't think this couple will ever stop being my favorite! I shipped them so hard! They were so adorable and perfect together! I have never loved a couple as much as I loved the InHyun couple! It's sad that they broke up in real life but I will always have Queen In Hyun's Man to watch whenever I miss these two together!

2. Lee Sun Jae & Oh Hye Won from Secret Love Affair

This couple really gives me goosebumps! And I mean it in a good way. They are 20 years apart. You'd think them being together would seem awkward. But these two had such great chemistry that I never wanted them apart! They were beautiful!

3. Cheng You Qing & Li Da Ren from In Time With You

Anyone who has been reading my blog knows that I'm a huge best friend romance fan! And In Time With You is the best best friend romance drama I've seen! These two were just so cute together! I loved how Li Da Ren was always there for You Qing! One of the best drama couples ever!

4. Shi Won & Yoon Je from Reply 1997

Yup, another best friend romance! I just can't get enough of this cuteness! These two were adorable! I loved watching their bickering and I loved how much they cared for each other.

5. Kim Joo Won & Gil Ra Im from Secret Garden

I really liked how in Secret Garden Joo Won was the one who fell in love with Ra Im first and he tried to win her over. Their fights were really cute and they were adorable together!

So, these were my all-time favorite drama couples. Watch them in their dramas and fall in love with them as hard as I did! Hehe! I would love to know your favorite drama couples! So list them below!

Sunday Spotlight~Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher (Book)

I know I missed last week's Sunday Spotlight post and this week's Favorite Five Friday post and I'm really sorry to anyone who might be looking forward to them. But college started last week and I've been so busy, I don't even have time to breath! Today though I didn't have any classes so I'm here posting! :)

This week I'm spotlighting the book that introduced me to the world of YA. Before reading Thirteen Reasons Why, back in 2010, I read anything I could get my hands on. Usually it was Agatha Christie or R. L. Stine or some chick-lit novel which were very popular at that time. I did enjoy these but I never loved them. Then I came across Thirteen Reasons Why. I used to run a Disney blog and while searching for news for that I found an article saying that Selena Gomez would be playing Hannah in the movie version of the book. I found the synopsis interesting and decided to get the book. I accidentally got the audio version but since I had already gotten it I decided to listen to it.

I loved it! I listened to it all in one go. I stayed up all night listening to it and I loved it so much! Since then I have listened to it thrice and I even bought the paperback because I really loved this book! After that I discovered what Young Adult was. Since I was a young adult I could relate to and understand these books better. So I started reading them more. I do venture into other genres from time to time but YA is definitely my home.

The most amazing thing about TRW was that it was told from Clay's and Hannah's POV but Hannah's was recorded on tapes. So when I listened to it, it was like I was listening to Hannah's tapes. Which was so cool and made the experience so much more fun and memorable. This book is so haunting and really stays with you.

I'm really excited about the movie though I don't think it will be made for a while. I really hope they make it soon. I think Selena will do a good job but I'm more interested in seeing how they will make it and what things they will leave out what they will keep.

Favorite Five Friday~Favorite Asian Movies

This Friday I'll be listing my favorite Asian movies. Once upon a time I used to watch a lot of Asian movies. Nowadays I don't have much time and the little time that I do get, I spend in watching dramas. So this is a list of the top five Asian movies I have seen so far:

5. Paradise Kiss (Japanese)

This is the latest Asian movie that I have seen. I really enjoyed this one! It's cute and funny but also has a seriousness to it. The story and acting are pretty good. You can read my full review here.

4. I Give My First Love To You (Japanese)

Oh this movie made me cry so much! The story isn't very unique but it's just so sad! The actors did a great job and this movie was very sad & beautiful. Read my full review here.

3. Bokura Ga Ita (Japanese)

Yup, another Japanese movie. I've noticed that Japanese movies based on manga are usually pretty good. This movie was no exception. It was bittersweet and executed so well! The actors did a great job and I loved the movie! Read my review here.

2. Shutter (Thai)

Yes, I even have a horror movie here! I love watching horror movies, especially Asian ones and Shutter is probably my favorite one out of all the ones I have watched. The story is very well-written and the horror in this movie is so good! The acting and effects are really good too. A must-watch for any horror fan.

1. Sunny (Korean)

I loved this movie so much! It made me laugh and it made me cry and it made me miss my friends and my school days so much! The story, acting, everything was brilliant in this movie and I think everyone should watch it at least once. You can read my full review here.

Have you seen any of these movies? What Asian movies do you like best? I would love some recommendations!

Sunday Spotlight~Secret from My Secret Hotel OST (Song)

On my second Sunday Spotlight post I will be featuring a song I have been obsessed with since it came out! I've been listening to it nonstop! And when I'm not listening to it I'm humming it in my head. It's so good!

It's the song Secret from My Secret Hotel OST Part 1. I'm loving this drama so much! And this song caught my attention several times. I made out the English lyrics and I actually thought this was an English song. The guy's voice does sound a lot like Gary Lightbody's (from Snow Patrol) voice. But then this song kept coming up again and again and I listened to it very carefully and realized it was in Korean. So I searched and downloaded it and I'm loving it!

It has such a slow, haunting melody! It is perfect for the drama and so different from other drama OSTs I have listened to. The English part is actually pretty good and I love the "deep inside everybody lies" lyric. The lyrics of the whole song are great (translated lyrics below). I love Yoon Sung Ki's voice and the girl's voice in the few parts adds to the haunting feeling of the song.

All in all I really love this song and I hope you enjoy it as well. Happy listening!

Lyrics in English:

Your memories that trap me
I try to erase them
But like a lie, we’re still in the same place
You better not cry
Deep inside everybody lies
You better not to know
It is a secret song
Right now, this anxious happiness is stained black
Holding me inside this crumbling time
You better not cry
Deep inside everybody lies
You better not to know
It is a secret
Take it! please Take it!
You just have to trust me.
I can’t take it!
Love is like a dying firework
I try to hide but I can’t avoid fate
You better not cry.
Deep inside everybody lies.
You better not to know.
It is a secret love.

Favorite Five Friday~Favorite Infinite Dance Steps

Favorite Five Friday is another feature I am introducing to the blog where I will post a top five list each week on any random topic. I've been obsessed with Infinite this week so today my list consists of my favorite dance steps by them.

1. Opening dance of Back

I really love this dance! It's so cool how another person mirrors some dance moves of the person who is singing. I love the jerky dance and it is so mesmerizing, watching them!

2. Scorpion Dance in BTD

This is a very popular dance of their's and rightfully so! It's so cool and amazing how synchronized they are and how they do the step! I'm no dancer but the step seems pretty hard and it shows how hard they have worked to master it!

3. Last Romeo chorus dance

The dance I'm talking about appears at around the 1:47 mark but you can see it better at 2:50. It's the finger snapping dance, the one they do at the "kkeutnasseo naui jeonbureul da geolgesseo" part. This is their first dance step I fell in love with. It's just so awesome and makes you want to dance along with them!

4. Come Back Again chorus dance

The "dasi dorawa" step is so catchy! Like I really want to dance along to this part every time it comes up! In this video it comes around the 0:34 mark but you can see it every time the chorus comes up.

5. Robot zombie dance in BTD

I don't think it's actually called the 'robot zombie dance' but I made that up because they look like robot zombies when they perform it. It appears at around the 1 minute mark. The step seems easy but it looks so cool!

So, which one was your favorite?

Sunday Spotlight~Please Don't... by K. Will (Music Video)

Sunday Spotlight is a new feature on my blog where every Sunday I will talk about something. It could be anything, from a book to an author or a drama or a singer or even another blog. Today I will be talking about (or writing about is more appropriate) a music video.

I had food poisoning last week, not very serious but serious enough that I missed 3 days of classes. Instead of studying, like any good student would, I explored the world of Kpop. I have been addicted to Kdramas since the start of last year but other than Super Junior I had no knowledge of Kpop. So I searched for music videos on youtube and found some very funny reaction videos! But that not what we're talking about right now. In the midst of my MV watching I came across a video that surprised me with it's originality and daring content.

You see, same sex relationships aren't really touched on much in dramas or MVs. Reply 1997 is the only drama I've seen with a gay guy. And Please Don't is the only MV I have seen with a gay guy. Funny how both have Seo In Guk in them ;)

So naturally I was very surprised by it. But I also loved the MV. Honestly, I had an inkling from the start that Seo In Guk's character likes Ahn Jae Hyun's, even though they tried so hard to make it seem that Seo In Guk was in love with his best friend's girl. I love Ahn Jae Hyun and Seo In Guk as actors and they were awesome in this MV, especially Seo In Guk. His expressions and reactions are really good!

The editing and shots are really awesome! They looked beautiful when they were supposed to, sad when they were supposed to. It really made watching the MV all the more fun.

I am a HUGE fan of story-like MVs i.e. music videos that tell a story. And this one told a story of a gay guy who was in love with his straight best friend who was getting married to his annoying girl friend and the poor guy couldn't do anything about it. It was a bittersweet MV, very well directed and definitely one of my favorite MVs ever!

The song? Honestly, I don't really remember much of the song. I do remember that K. Will has a really good voice! But I was so caught up in the MV that I didn't pay much attention to the song. I don't know what the lyrics meant or if they matched the video either. All I know is that I loved this video!

I know this post is all over the place. I promise next time I'll do better research and write a better post! Till then, enjoy the video:

Top Ten Tuesday (4) ~ Books I'd love to see as a movie or TV show

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish.
I did a post on this topic last month. But I added a couple of movies to my list to make it 10. So here's my new list (in no particular order):

1. Teen Idol by Meg Cabot ~ Movie

This book would make such a fun and inspirational movie! And it would have 2 cute boys ;) I would sssooo love to see this movie! Especially because the main character is really relatable. And the book is short so they wouldn't have to omit a lot of stuff either.

2. Transcend Time Saga by Michelle Madow ~ Movie Series

These series have a really interesting story! I would love to see them as movies! Michelle even has a dream cast for the books. How awesome would it be if these actually get turned into a movie series and Taylor Swift plays Lizzie?!!

3. From What I Remember by Stacy Kramer and Valarie Thomas ~ Movie

I love road-trip movies! And this book was one of my favorite books last year. I think this book would make such an amazing movie! Funny and relaxing, a great summer movie!

4. The Whispers Series by Joanna Mazurkiewicz ~ Movie Series

Can I just say first... I love the new covers! I haven't read the whole series yet, I've read the first three, but I think these would make a good movie series, each book being a movie. That makes it 4 movies. This series would have such a gorgeous cast! You know, as Sprites are gorgeous people. So lots of eye-candy! :D And the story's pretty interesting too. I, for one, would love to see these movies!

5. Sam Cruz's Infallible Guide to Getting Girls by Tellulah Darling ~ Movie

This book would make such a funny movie! If you've been reading my blog, you know that I LOVE 'best-friends turned lovers' stories! Books, movies, anything! I just adore the theme! And this book has exactly that theme. Plus it's hilarious! It would be so much fun to watch!

6. Speechless by Hannah Harrington ~ Movie

I'll be honest, the only reason I want to see this turned into a movie is because I want to see a real-life Sam. Sam is one of my majorest book crushes! The story of this book is really good but it's fine even if it doesn't get turned into a movie. I only want to see a real-life Sam, that's all.

7. Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher ~ Movie

This one's a new addition to my previous list. I know that this is being turned into a movie but I just wanted to share that I'm really looking forward to it. This book is the book that got me into reading YA and it will forever be one of my favorite books. I would love to see it as a movie as long as they do not ruin it!

8. Saving June by Hannah Harrington ~ Movie

When I recall reading this book, I can't really remember it as 'reading'. I remember it as a movie. Like Saving June wasn't a book I read but a movie I saw. That is why I want to see this as an actual movie. But only if the movie promises to do justice to the book!

9. Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by David Levithan and Rachel Cohn ~ Movie

I'm aware that this book is being turned into a movie too. And I'm VERY happy about it! I love this book A LOT! This is my cure for whenever I'm feeling down. I love love love the story and I adore the characters! So they better do justice to the book!

10 The Mediator Series by Meg Cabot ~ TV Show

I've said this before, I'll say it again... PLEASE SOMEONE TURN THIS INTO A TV SHOW!! Please! I'm begging you! This series would make such an awesome TV show! And more books are coming out! Even better! 6 seasons are already there! Just please please! I know these are being turned into a movie but I don't think a movie will be able to do justice to this series. So please make this into a TV show!

And that's my list! :) Do you have any books you'd love to see turn into a movie or TV show? Comment below or leave a link to your post. I would love to check out your list!

Showcase Sunday (2) ~ Book Fair!

Showcase Sunday is a weekly meme hosted by Books, Biscuits and Tea.
It's been so long since I did one of these posts! It's not that I didn't buy books in so long. It was just a few books here, a few books there so I never felt like I should do a haul post for only a couple of books.

Well, there was a small book fair here and I found a really nice stall of old books so I bought 6. Here are my buys this week:

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger

I honestly have no idea what this book is about. But I've heard so much that I feel like I need to read this too...

The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger

Again, a book everyone loves but I haven't read yet. So I bought it... Also, I love this cover!

The Woman in White by Wilkie Collins

I've wanted to read this book from the day I saw the pilot episode of Supernatural. I don't know if there is a connection or not but this is supposed to be a mystery classic so why not give it a try?

The Lightning Thief (Percy Jackson and the Olympians #1) by Rick Riordan

With the new Percy Jackson movie coming out, every bookstore that I visit, the people there try to persuade me to buy these books. So I finally did! Yaay! But I'm not going to start this series until I finish the Harry Potter series.

One Day by David Nicholls

I've seen the movie and I liked it so I wanted to read the book too.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies by Seth Grahame-Smith

This is probably my favorite book out of the ones that I've bought and I started reading it as soon as I got into the car. It's good so far. I love Pride & Prejudice, something about it feels like home (though I'm no where near English nor have I ever been to England).  I haven't really read any zombie books so I'm really looking forward to this. I'm a few pages in and I'm loving it so far. Plus I'm really enjoying the illustrations!

And that's the list of books I got this week. What books did you get recently?
