My TV Year In Review

All the TV shows I follow have finished airing their latest seasons so I thought I'd do a seasons' end review for them all.

Reign (Season 3)

This season started out so bad but improved so much! It was much better than the last season. I'm so glad they turned the romance down a notch and increased the politics because that's what I came here for! I hated Elizabeth at first but she grew on me. I had started hating the weak Mary but finally the writers did her some justice by the end and made her the strong and fierce Mary I knew and loved! I enjoyed the political drama so much and I loved how Catherine was at the heart of it. This season saw the departure of many of my beloved characters. They will be missed. :'( I just hope they don't kill off more of my favorite characters. Like Leith. And give Bash a bigger role next season please! He's an amazing character and deserves his own story-line. I think it's been a long time coming and I'm glad he was getting more scenes by the end of this season so I hope next season is bigger for him. I'm looking forward to the rivarly between Mary & Elizabeth next season and I can't wait to see how Narcisse will take his revenge on Elizabeth!

Supernatural (Season 11)

What was this season?! We had God's sister, and God, and what not and it was so boring! I don't even remember most of the season TBH. I remember struggling through each episode hoping it would be interesting. But the Darkness story-line was just not for me. The only episodes I enjoyed were the filler case episodes. Lucifer Cas isn't Cas. I want Cas! And can you make Destiel happen already?! Character wise they were all the same. I loved Sam & Dean & Crowley. I enjoyed Rowena at first but then got tired of her. Beloved character deaths :'( It's just the story I had a problem with. I hope next season is better.

The Vampire Diaries (Season 7)

It's only the seventh season? I feel like it's been a lifetime since this show used to actually be good. Now it's just absurd stories trying to pull through from one season to the other. I mean what even was this season?! During most of the episodes I sat there laughing at the absurdity and swooning over Ian's hotness. Damon was the only good thing on the show. But his character's getting ruined too. So I'd say Ian's looks (& those gorgeous eyes) are the only good thing on the show. I feel like Paul's so tired of the show that he doesn't even bother changing his facial expressions. He has the same face in every scene! Bored. The story was all over the place and had so many plot holes! I hated most of the new characters. The character deaths didn't even bother me TBH. Just let Matt die please. I feel sorry for the poor guy. I hate how Bonnie gets treated on the show. I hate how Damon is with everyone and gets away with it too. This show needs to end. I heard the next season was the last one. Lets hope so.

The 100 (Season 3)

Why show?!!! Why you do this to me?!!! Lincoln was my favorite character ever! I loved him and they killed him and now my heart is broken </3 I didn't like this season much compared to the previous seasons. Not only because of the pointless deaths but I didn't like the overall story. It was interesting and very engaging but I felt like something was missing. I've started hating Jasper. If anyone had to be killed then it should've been him. I loved the rest my squad though <3 I've also come to really like Murphy. I really hope they don't kill off any of my faves next season. I feel next season will be a hard one. I wish my babies would get a break.

Shadowhunters (Season 1)

I didn't like the first book much and I really didn't like the movie but I was still excited for the show and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was! Sure the acting and editing was sort of sloppy at first but I think over the season they improved A LOT! This was my favorite show this season. They changed up the story a lot and I'm glad because I think they made it better. I LOVED the characters, especially Izzy & Alec. Malec be my new favorite OTP :') I got so attached to all of them! And that season finale!!! I can't wait for the next season and the awesomeness it would bring!

Once Upon A Time (Season 5)

This was the Dark Swan & Hades season, right? Or was Dark Swan last season? I do remember Hades being there this season... See my problem? This used to be my favorite show. This season was so boring though. There were good parts but overall it was meh. Especially compared to the previous seasons. I don't have much to say about it because I don't really remember much. Except Hercules being such a cutie! I wish they would've kept him for more than one episode.

Update (Currently Reading & Watching)

Hello hello! Hope you are doing well! Finally winter is here! I love winter!

I know, I haven't posted in ages. This year is so much harder than the previous one! My life consists of classes, studying and sleeping. I'm even behind on all the shows & dramas & books. I cannot wait for this year (academic) to be over! But then there will be MCAT and University applications and what not! Oh when will this be over?!!

I had forgotten about the blog these past few weeks. Then a lovely reader commented on a post and I realized that people actually read what I write. Which prompted me to start posting again. I missed writing as well. So here I am! Since I don't have any reviews to write I'll just update you on the books I've been reading and the stuff I've been watching.

Currently Reading:

1. Anna Dressed in Blood by Kendare Blake

I love this cover so much that I got it's poster made! This is the only book I'm actually 'currently reading' because I'm reading it in ebook form and it's easier to read on my phone. It is less scary than I thought it would be but it's good. I'm through about half of it and so far it's been nice. Not 'oh-my-gosh-this-is-so-awesome-I-can't-stop-reading' good but good that it doesn't bore me and is interesting.

2. A Thousand Bones by P. J. Parrish

I started this a while ago, after I finished another crime novel. It seemed pretty good and interesting. It's too bad I haven't had time to read it.

3. Just Jane by Nancy Moser

I wouldn't say I'm a huge fan of Jane Austen but I do like her work and I love anything Pride & Prejudice related so I bought this. It's a bit boring but that, I guess, is to be expected from a work like this, no? I'm taking my time going through this one.

4. Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin

This one I've been reading for quite some time now. The length is so much that it's overwhelming! And it's a book that I once start it's pretty hard for me to stop. So I have to be careful when I read it. And since I've been so busy with studies I haven't been reading it at all. The weird thing is that even when I put it on hold for long periods of time I still remember everything that has happened before when I read it again. This hardly ever happens, I'm not this good at remembering. But with Game of Thrones I get so immersed in the story that I remember it.

Currently Watching (TV Shows):

1. Once Upon A Time (Season 4)

The Frozen and Snow Queen storyline is so awesome! The plot is getting so interesting and each episode is so much fun to watch! I'm loving it!

2. Supernatural (Season 10)

Supernatural is going okay. There haven't been any episodes yet, this season, that I have loved but we are only 5 episodes in. I'm sure something interesting will come up.

3. Reign (Season 2)

Reign is awesomesauce! It's seriously so so good! All the actors are doing such a great job and the story is so good and compelling! I'm loving this one!

4. The Vampire Diaries (Season 6)

Things are actually better this season with TVD. I'm not loving it but it is keeping me interested. And Mr Smolderholder!!!! 'nuf said.

Currently Watching (Dramas):

1. Bad Guys

Oh my, this drama is just all levels of awesomeness! Drop everything and go watch it now! You'll love it! Great cast, amazing story, good cinematography, this drama is all-around perfect!

2. High School - Love On

I feel like I'm the odd one out because while almost everyone seems to be loving this one, I can't keep myself from rolling my eyes. It was pretty good in the beginning but now the characters' actions don't make any sense, Sungyeol seriously needs psychiatric help, so does his mother and Woohyun and Seul Bi need to run away and be their cheesy selves together. Even then, it's fun to watch. I get to laugh at the stupid stuff these characters do.

3. Misaeng (Incomplete Life)

Im Siwan, where have you been all my life? This guy... ugh, this guy!!! And this drama!!! I've only watched 3 episodes but I have a feeling that this drama is only going to get better. Amazing directing, great cast and awesome story! It feels so raw and real. Really hits you in the feels. Ten minutes feel like an hour and even then this drama doesn't get tiring. It is so different and rare, it's really one in a million. And I love it!

4. Liar Game

This one is so awesome! All the mind games and the suspense literally keep me on the edge of my seat! The cast is amazing and Shin Sung Rok!! But I'm really loving Lee Sang Yoon as well! It's a good thing I haven't seen the Japanese version so I have nothing to compare it too. But I'm really enjoying Liar Game!

5. My Lovely Girl

Finally this is over! It was sort of like torture, watching this one. Especially towards the end. I still haven't seen the last two episodes yet. Will get around to it eventually. I'm glad it's finally over.

Currently Watching (Variety Shows):

1. Roommate 

This season is so funny! I can't stop laughing and by the end my each episode my stomach hurts from laughing too much. All the new members are awesome! Even though I would prefer if they showed the previous ones a little more too. I'm loving Jackson and Park Joon Hyung! They are so funny and cool! And Jackson and Young Ji are so cute! I ship them!

2. We Got Married (SunHee Couple)

I saw Kwanghee on Hello Counselor and he was so funny! And I've loved Sunhwa since Marriage Not Dating. So when I came to know that they were on WGM together I decided to watch their episodes. I'm glad I did because these two are so funny and cute! They are by far my favorite couple from the ones I've watched up till now. Me being such a huge fan of best friend romances, I really enjoy watching these two. And sometimes I get appearances from Siwan which is a great bonus!

3. We Got Married (EunRim Couple)

Boy oh boy are these two a breath of fresh air! They are so adorable and funny! They are very close to becoming my favorite couple! I liked So Eun in BOF but I never gave much attention to her. (She's great in Liar Game BTW). I've seen Song Jae Rim in Surplus Princess and I loved him there. I had no idea what to expect from them though but I decided to watch them on WGM because I'd been reading about them all around the internet. I can see why people like them so much. They are so cute together you can't help but love them!

Wow that's a lot! No wonder I'm so behind on everything. I don't know how I end up with so much on my plate. I really need to learn to control. Oh well, this is my update. What are you currently reading/watching?

Currently Watching

Despite the tests I'm currently watching a lot of ongoing dramas and TV shows. But I only get to catch up on weekends. Good thing a lot of them are about to end soon so I will have less to watch. I just don't have the heart to drop any. Here is the stuff I'm currently watching:

Dramas:

1. My Secret Hotel

This one's beginning to bore me. I was never invested enough to be frustrated and that is why I am just bored. The romance is all over the place and frankly I have stopped caring about it. I did like the mystery but it's given such less importance that now I don't care about that either. The only good thing about this drama are the OSTs. The songs are seriously very good and have been on replay on my iPod since they came out!

2. My Lovely Girl

Hmm... I don't now about this one. I am enjoying it but I feel like it's going to disappoint me. It's still too early to say, I've only seen 4 episodes. Rain is really good and Krystal is doing a good job as well. I liked her better in Heirs though but I think that was because of her character. I wish Myungsoo (L) was a better actor. He's adorable but his acting... Hoya's doing a good job though. And this is completely out of the blue but Sungyeol's brother (who plays one of the band members) is so much like him! I mean in the way he looks and talks.

3. Surplus Princess

I was actually quite enjoying this one. I'm sad that it got cut down to only 10 episodes. It is a fun drama. It has good humor and I am enjoying the story as well. I especially love Ha Ni and how Jo Bo Ah is playing her!I hope they end it well...

4. High School - Love On

This one is just so cute! I'm loving the story and even though the acting isn't that good, it's not cringe-worthy and it's always great seeing my Infinite boys. I like where the story is going and how real the characters feel.

TV Shows:

1. Once Upon A Time

The first episode was meh. With such an awesome season finale I was expecting a great season premiere but it fell a little flat. I'm sure it will pick up though. I'm loving the Frozen arc!

2. Supernatural

I know this hasn't premiered yet but it will next week and I do plan on watching it. I can't wait!!!! My mother can't wait either! This is the only show we watch together so I'm pretty excited. When I talk to her about other shows she doesn't understand a thing but Supernatural is something we both love so it's fun talking to her about it.

3. Reign

Wow! That was a great first episode! Mary is changing so much! I don't know if it's for better or worse... So many mysteries and threats! Bash <3 This season is going to be intense!

4. The Vampire Diaries

That was actually a pretty good first episode. That ending!!! But yeah, I actually enjoyed it and the mystery is really intriguing. I'm looking forward to this season,  I hope the writers don't disappoint.

Variety Shows:

1. It's Okay, Roommate

Only 1 episode has aired till now. I do like the new members, they seem fun (and funny!) but I'm going to miss the old ones as well. I hope this will be as much fun as the first season!

2. We Got Married (JungJung Couple)

I know this isn't ongoing but I am watching it... and I love these two! They are so adorable! They are a very different couple from what we usually see on We Got Married (not that I watch a lot of it). I love how they play games with each other but at the end of the day they really do care for each other. Jung Joon Young is so adorkably shy and super funny! And Jung Yoo Mi really has a lot of patience! They are not very cutesy and sweet. But they are unique and sweet in their own way.

I know, I know... I'm watching a lot. Really though, I have no idea how it got so out of hand! The thing is, one drama or the other (High School Love On, I'm looking at you) keeps postponing their episodes and then I pick up something new. Plus all the new TV show seasons are starting and that is why my list grew so much. And everyone needs variety in their life to laugh the stress away. So I ended up watching 10 shows at the same time. No wonder I don't have time for anything else... Tests on weekdays, shows on weekends...

Currently Watching

I haven't been watching many shows since I was having tests but now I'm on a one week break so I'm catching up. I thought I'd share with you guys what I've been watching.

TV Shows:

1. Once Upon A Time

Oh the Captain Swan feels! I'm loving OUAT! I love fairytales and I love how they have been made into something so amazing! The acting is really good and I'm sure anyone who likes watching shows with adventure and mystery and action and romance will love OUAT!

2. Supernatural

Oh my Destiel heart </3 I really wish this show wouldn't go on so many breaks! The story is amazing! There's action and humor and lots and lots of emotion! There's also a little bit of romance and a lot of family love. The acting is one of the best I've ever seen. Jensen Ackles should get an oscar! Highly recommended show! Won't disappoint!

3. The Vampire Diaries

I'll be honest, the only reason I'm watching this show is because of Ian Somerhalder. If it weren't for Damon I would've given up on this show long long ago. It isn't that bad but the story line is repetitive and some of the main characters are very annoying. I wouldn't particularly recommend this show but I guess if you liked Twilight then you should go ahead.

4. Reign

Oh how I am loving this show! The mystery, the plotting, the romance, the suspense! On top of that the characters and the actors who play them are great! I love Mary! She's strong and independent. Oh Bash <3 Catherine may be evil but she's also very smart and you gotta appreciate her for that. All in all this is an amazing show. Historically not very correct. But if you don't mind that and would like a little supernatural and  a more interesting touch to history then you should definitely check out Reign!

Dramas:

1. Cunning Single Lady

I'll be honest, this isn't one of the best dramas or anything. But when I was stressed with exams and stuff it really helped me calm down. It also happened that the other dramas I was watching happened to be pretty serious. So this romantic comedy helped me relax. If you don't take this drama too seriously then it can be pretty enjoyable. The name doesn't suit the drama though. Ae Ra isn't that cunning. But I do like her. The male lead is pretty likeable too. The best part is, when he acts cute it's actually pretty adorable instead of being weird. The second male lead... Oh his eyes! <3 And his acting is pretty good too! I love how he's not one of those guys who sit back and be like 'I like you but I'm too much of a coward to say anything so I hope you'll be happy' but instead when he likes the girl, he tells her straightforward that he likes her. The second female lead, she's pretty annoying. And I'm pretty sure how they're running their business, that's not how it works. But as I said, if you don't take this too seriously it can be pretty enjoyable.

2. Secret Love Affair

Watching this drama is like watching something forbidden. It's not like it has that kind of content. But it's very different than the usual dramas. It's very mature and realistic. And it's about forbidden love between a married 40 year old woman and a 20 year old boy. I guess that is why I feel like I'm watching something I shouldn't. Despite that you can't really stop watching this drama. It's like you keep getting reeled in as it progresses and you're desperate to know what their story will bring.

3. Wild Chives and Soy Bean Soup

Oh how I love this drama! <3 I've never watched such a long drama! It's on-going but it is supposed to be 50 episodes long. I don't know what got into me to start watching it. But I'm loving it so far! The story (or should I say stories?) is really good! There are, I think, 4 stories going on side-by-side. Don't worry, they are dealt with really well so it doesn't get confusing. All the stories are pretty interesting. I love the actors and characters. I love the main girl lead! She's strong and independent. I also love how the characters are so teenage-y. They make stupid decisions and mistakes and react to them like a normal teenager would. The adult characters are good too. I especially like Yoo Soo Han's story. If you're in the mood of a weekend family drama and are ready for long-term commitment then I would highly recommend WCASBS.

4. City Hunter

I'm not actually watching it... It's more like when I don't have anything to watch but I'm in the mood of watching a drama then I watch an episode of City Hunter. The story is pretty good and interesting. I love the female lead! And Lee Min Ho <3 LMH looks gorgeous in this drama and I would watch it just for him! But I'm not watching just for him because the story is really good! And the other characters are interesting too. The only problem I had with this drama is that there are too many connections and coincidences. I will discuss more of that in my review.
 
It may seem like I watch a lot of shows but it's one or two episodes each week of each show and Supernatural, Vampire Diaries, and Reign go on so many breaks that I don't really have much to watch at all.

What I'm watching right now...

I have never watched so many on-going shows simultaneously! Right now I'm watching 6 shows, 1 of which is on break and 3 are Korean dramas.

All of these are awesome so I thought I'd share them with my readers and see if there's anyone who's watching the same shows so I can fangirl with them! ;)

1. Once Upon A Time

OhmyGod this show is so amazing! It has an amazing concept! You see, fairytale characters come to life! It's really so much fun to watch! Plus, it has a really strong female lead and gorgeous men. ;) Captain Hook!! *sigh* A must watch! Too bad it's on break and comes back in March ;( I can't wait!!

2. Supernatural

I've been a Supernatural fan for ages! Even my mom loves the show! The story is amazing and the cast does a splendid job! And Dean Winchester. Enough said.

3. Reign

I love historical stuff! Sure, Reign isn't historically very accurate but the story is really interesting and it's fun to watch the costumes and the royal lifestyle! Plus, the love triangle is really good! It's a great show and really, very much fun to watch. Highly recommended!

4. Prime Minister and I

Well, this one ended this week but I still have one episode left to watch. I loved it in the beginning! But then it got boring. I do like it now but not as much as I liked it initially. Lets see how the ending goes... Anyway, I thought I'd hate an ahjussi-romance but this wasn't that bad.

5. My Love From Another Star

I was supposed to like this one... I mean, it's good! It's really good! The story is great. The acting is amazing. But I think my timing was wrong. That is why I couldn't give this drama the attention it deserved. So I'm taking a break from this one. I've watched 10 episodes and I hope to go back to watch the rest soon, but only when I'm sure I can give the poor drama the love it deserves.

6. Emergency Couple

This one started a few weeks ago and I'm already in love with it! I want to be a doctor and this drama is set in a hospital so it's even more fun to watch! I love the actors and the story so far! And I eagerly wait for the new episode each week!
